There is a lot of miss information going on throughout the VA network about GA-21. So, what is GA-21 and its purpose?
GA-21 is a resolution to explore and investigate the requirements to change our name IF we ALL (all chapters) decide to open our membership to other veterans.
Other veterans means veterans other than Vietnam veterans, including veterans that have never been in any conflict. Resolution GA-21 does not, and cannot, authorize changing the name of the VVA, or authorize changing the requirements for membership in the VVA because both of these requirements are written into the VVA Constitution. All of this falls under the Dissolution process that is now being looked at and studied. The important thing that we must all understand is that nothing is going to be done by the National Board of Directors or State Council Presidents. This is the first article on GA-21 and the second one will be in the next Veteran mailing. The way it stands now is that there’s a lot of opinions going in both direction across the country.
I and the rest of the Executive Board will be attending the convention. This is why it is imperative that I get all your feedback. Your decision will determine the way this chapter votes. Frank Russo has posted provided an email address where you can send your feedback. Please use it.
