It is with deep sadness to report the passing of Vincent Maligno Jr., son of Chapter member Vincent Maligno and Amelia Maligno.  Vincent Maligno Jr. will be waked Thursday January 2nd at Scalia Funeral Home 28 Eltingville Boulevard Staten Island (718) 356-6363 from 2-5PM and 7-9PM.  A funeral Mass will be held on Friday January 3rd at 11AM at the Holy Child Church located at 4747 Amboy Road.  The family has asked that in lieu of flowers that donations be made in his name to the Stephen Siller Tunnel to Tower Foundation since he was a member of the Fire Department on 9/11.  Please pray for the Maligno family.  Below is the obituary by the Maligno family.

“Our son Vincent Maligno Jr. died at age 49. Vinny was born on October 25th 1970 in Victory Memorial Hospital Brooklyn. He traveled around the world while his father served in the Air Force. He began school on Anderson Air Force Base Guam and continued school in Nuremberg Germany. After moving to Staten Island in 1981 he graduated from St. Teresa School and Tottenville HS. He earned degrees from SUNY Buffalo and Rutgers University. During 9/11 he was a Paramedic with the NY Fire Department. He later served with Assist, Midwood and Primary Care Ambulance services. He was the Paramedic for the New York Racing Authority's jockeys at Aqueduct, Belmont and Saratoga Race Tracks. He is survived by his parents Vincent and Amelia Maligno, his grandmother Betty Maligno, his sisters Julie Maligno Anderson (Clyde Anderson), Melissa Maligno Miller (Paul Miller), Megan Maligno (Paul Hickey), Lauren Giordanella (John Paul) and his brother Joseph Maligno (Elan), nieces Jordan Anderson, Logan Miller, Avery Anderson, Kamryn Miller and Ava London Hickey, his Aunts Betteann Tropea and Anita Blasi (Sal, Olivia and Matthew), his Uncle Joseph Maligno, his many cousins and friends. Arrangements: Wake at Scalia Funeral Home Thursday Jan 2nd 2-5 and 7-9.  Funeral Mass at Holy Child on Friday Jan 3rd at 11AM and burial at Resurrection Cemetery.


In lieu of flowers we are asking for donations to Stephen Siller Tunnels to Tower Foundation since our son was with NYFD on 9/11.”
