Hi Everyone

I know my little updates are few and far between, and I try to put something down but it seems to me that it would be a little redundant. I say that because of this great website. Everything you need to know about what we are doing, what we will be doing, all our latest ventures and what is going on around our world that is prevalent to us is right here at your fingertips.

Our Webmaster and now Secretary has put together this remarkable site that is arguably the best in the VVA.

Some years ago the VA finally saw the light and gave the go ahead for what we all know as the Vet Center. These little satellites popped all over the five boroughs and gave veterans the ability to reach out for help.

The Vet center here on Staten Island under the guidance of Tom McGoldrick has always been a special place for all of us to go. The entire staff always makes us feel like it is the place to be when we are looking for comfort and answers. It has been a burning light for all veterans here on Staten Island since it opened, but on June 27 one of those candles went out when Debra Wolfe transferred to the Long Island Center.

She has been a source of comfort and understanding for so many of us. Her insight into the problems we have faced when we came home were as if she was there with us. Her compassion and ability to say the right thing at the right time always brought us back home.

At our last meeting we all got together with her and said thank you for how far she has brought us.

She is a great lady and we all wish her all the happiness in the world.
